Devin Cherry Wins the StatSheet Ivy League Sixth Man of the Week - December 24th, 2012

Ian Hummer from Princeton has earned StatSheet's Ivy League Player of the Week award for December 24th. Princeton's Hans Brase has won StatSheet Ivy League Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Devin Cherry is the StatSheet Ivy League 6th Man of the Week. Hummer put up 50% shooting, 3.5 assists per game, and 16 points per game. The Princeton senior played well in victories versus Rider and Bucknell.

Hummer led all rebounding for the Tigers with 7 while adding 5 assists in a 62-45 win against Rider. He then led all scoring and rebounding with a 17 point and 8 rebound performance in a 79-67 win against Bucknell.

This is the second time this season that Ian Hummer has been named StatSheet Ivy League Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Denton Koon, a sophomore from Princeton. Honorable mention goes to Princeton junior T.J. Bray. Shonn Miller, who finished ninth, was the highest ranking player from Cornell.

StatSheet Ivy League Freshman of the Week: Princeton's Hans Brase

Hans Brase was on the floor an average of 23 minutes starting both games for Princeton. In the win over Rider, Brase led the Tigers in scoring with 17 points and added 2 blocked shots. Following that in the win against Bucknell, he totaled 14 points and 4 rebounds.

This is the first StatSheet Ivy League Freshman of the Week honor for Hans Brase. The runner-up is Siyani Chambers from Harvard. Honorable mention goes to Connor Boehm from Dartmouth.

StatSheet Ivy League 6th Man of the Week: Cornell's Devin Cherry

Sophomore Devin Cherry, a 6-3 guard, averaged 21 minutes over three games for the Big Red. In a 66-55 loss to Vanderbilt, Cherry put up 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Then in an 88-47 loss to Duke, he racked up 5 points and 2 rebounds. Finally, in a 70-57 loss to Boston University, Cherry led all scoring with 16 points and also put up 2 rebounds.

This is Devin Cherry's first StatSheet Ivy League 6th Man of the Week award this season. Steve Moundou-Missi, a sophomore forward from Harvard, is runner up. Our own Errick Peck receives honorable mention. Cornell has yet to win StatSheet Ivy League Player of the Week.
